Localizing a Global Giant for the Middle East
Successfully led the high-stakes digital migration of Tommee Tippee Arabia from Magento to Shopify, specifically optimized for the GCC and Middle East markets. The primary objective was to replicate the brand’s global design standards with absolute precision while introducing a robust, localized shopping experience. This involved architecting a multi-lingual (English & Arabic) and multi-currency ecosystem that serves customers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and other neighboring regions seamlessly.
The most significant technical challenge was re-engineering the complex blog and resource center, which was restricted by Shopify’s native “one-category-per-article” limitation. To overcome this, I developed a sophisticated Custom Blog Engine using Metaobjects and Metafields to handle multi-category assignments. By implementing a GraphQL API-based smart filtering system, I delivered a lightning-fast, highly functional content discovery experience that mirrors the flexibility of enterprise-level CMS platforms.

Project Summary
The Tommee Tippee project demonstrates my ability to solve complex architectural limitations within Shopify. By moving away from standard liquid tagging and leveraging GraphQL for blog retrieval, I created a high-end, scalable content-to-commerce journey. The final storefront perfectly replicates the parent site’s aesthetic while providing the Middle Eastern market with a localized, high-speed, and reliable platform that maintains the brand’s global reputation.
